Ownership

Emil Strickler an enthusiastic Swiss wine lover bought the vineyard in 1998.

Management

A team of experts including Nuno Malta (General Manager) assisted by Oenologist and Cellar Master Luis Lourinho and the Oenologist consultant of Globalwine, Alain Bramaz.

Location

Quinta do Zambujeiro Lda is located approximately 170km east of Lisbon in the south eastern Portuguese region of Alentejo.

Winemaking

Selection of all grapes by hand.
Total maceration up to 7 weeks.
Malo-lactic fermentation in barrels.
100% new French oak barrels for Zambujeiro, 30% to 40% new French oak barrels for Terra do Zambujeiro.
12 – 24 months barrel maturation.
100% used French oak barrels for Monte do Zambujeiro.
